2000 Strong Golf Tournament Results
1st Place 2nd Place 3rd Place
1st. Place- Mark and Tanner Rockwood 2nd Place- Larry McHargue and Meagan Rockwood. 3rd Place - Phillip Jones and Dylan Levenson.
The final results of the first annual 2000 Strong Golf Tournament were surprising. We started out the day wondering if we were even going to be able to play because the skies were looking the opposite of sunny. But we pressed on in faith believing we were going to have a great day of golf and as it turns out we were not disappointed. We had 12 golfers compete in this 9 hole scramble; the rules were as follows:
Adult/Youth Teams: each youth must hit at least two shots per hole.
Triple Bogey is your friend: once you miss your putt for double bogey, pick up and move on to the next hole.

You may "improve your lie" one club length, but no closer to the hole.
Prize holes: Longest Drive- hole#4 (move sign forward, sign your name, must be in the fairway)
Closest to the Pin- hole #2 (move sign closer to the flag, sign your name)

The Youngest Player - Dylan Levenson; The most Senior Player was...well is that really important? They know who they are!!
The golf tournament was so successful we will be scheduling another one very soon and we encourage you to join us even if you don't play golf; it was a great fellowship, and a good time was had by all!

THE FULLNESS OF JOY: A GIFT FROM GOD
"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy loving kindness; according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." (Psalm 51: 1-12)
David discovered what we as believers all realize today - that if our lives are not pleasing to God, we will forfeit the joy we seek and the fellowship of the presence of Christ. No true child of God wants to live in such circumstances very long without desiring wholeheartedly to experience a new beginning. David's words are actually a prayer - a very powerful prayer at that. The desire to draw closer to God is necessary in all of our lives - and is absolutely required - in order for us to feel the joy of His presence in our lives.
My prayer this Easter season is that we all choose to hear the invitation to ask God to renew the right spirit within ourselves . . . and begin again to draw water from the well of our salvation . . . even Jesus Christ. Let us desire to receive His true gift of the fullness of the joy which He offers so freely to all who come to Him . . . believe in Him . . . follow His words . . . and serve only Him.

DRAWING FROM THE WELLS OF SALVATION
Isaiah 12: "Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation. Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation."
The Lord is our salvation and our strength. The fullness of joy we receive through Jesus Christ enables us to draw waters from the well of our salvation daily and quench our thirst for the presence of His Spirit. Isaiah used water in this passage of Scripture because water is absolutely required for life to exist, and it must be taken often in order to survive. So it is with our Lord - we must partake of His goodness daily - and often during the day - in order to live in the fullness of joy which His presence will bring us. If we forget to seek His presence - or seek from wells other than the well of salvation - we suffer spiritual thirst and eventual spiritual death. This is why we must not try to manufacture or program the presence of God's Spirit; his Spirit can only be found when we're in obedience to Christ and His words.
